Let's be honest about mastering EQ - sometimes we don't do that much.
I've noticed something: on one of my favorite mastering EQs, I tend to end up with one of two settings. A bold, full-bodied to add weight. Or a light one for tracks that are almost there.
The hardware costs more than some cars. There's a decent software emulation out there, that emulates all possible adjustments, but it's CPU-heavy and costs around $300.
So I measured my favorite settings and put them in a plugin.
One knob. Two presets. Done. Gentle on your CPU und your bank-account.

One knob. That's the interface.
Turn it up, the effect gets stronger. Turn it down, it gets more subtle. There's no wrong setting, just more or less of a sound that already works.
That's the whole user manual, almost.
Pick your trick.
Trick 1 – Massive
Bold, forward, full-bodied. Adds low-mid weight and presence that makes a mix sound bigger and more confident. For tracks that need to fill a room.
Trick 2 – Balanced
Refined, balanced, musical. Adds subtle warmth and harmonic richness without pushing the signal anywhere it doesn't want to go. For tracks that are almost perfect and just need that last touch.

Three switches. Eight flavors per trick.

Honestly? You might never touch these. The two presets sound great on their own. But if you want to, you can tinker with:
Transformer adds the subtle magnetic saturation of an output transformer. Frequency-dependent, stronger in the lows, the way real iron behaves.
Inductor adds harmonic density to the bass, the low-end weight that passive EQs with hand-wound coils are famous for.
Tube adds gentle broadband warmth. Even harmonics for body, odd harmonics for presence.Â
